Data for Housing

Data for Housing is an innovative urban data science workshop that teaches planners and planning adjacent professionals how to use python. I served as the Curriculum and Communications Manager during my first year of graduate school.

During this time, I built built the website so that our participants could sign up for our workshop, conducted surveys and analyzed them to produce reports for our partners (Chan Zuckerberge Initiative and the Associated Bay Area Governments/Metropolitan Transportation Committee), built the curriculum for our students which comprised of thirteen customized jupyter notebooks, and worked as one of three instructors for these notebooks.

During the six week workshop, we had approximately thirty participants and thirty-six hours of instruction with office hours and project development assistance included.

An analytical document focused on the history of Little Armenia, a neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The paper serves to analyze the development of the Armenian community in Los Angeles and the antecedents of community identity to community growth. Analysis of historical documents, persuasive writing, policy analysis.
